The UMBC Retrievers are the biggest story in American sports right now, so it’s hardly shocking that they’ve got the attention of Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
On Friday evening as UMBC was in the process of taking down No. 1 seed Virginia, the team’s very active and entertaining Twitter account reached out to Rodgers. Apparently, forward Joe Sherburne, who scored 14 points in that game, is a humongous A-Rod fan.
Hi @AaronRodgers12 your biggest fan Joe Sherburne just hit an and-1 and a 3 to put us, a 16 seed, up 6

Later in the evening, Sherburne himself hit up Rodgers on Twitter, too.

By Saturday, Rodgers responded.

In response, Sherburne tweeted he’s sending Rodgers some UMBC gear.
I’ll send you some gear. https://t.co/9NzPHh6rdL

No doubt, Rodgers, along with the rest of America, will be tuning in to see Sherburne and the Retrievers take on Kansas State in the second round of the NCAA Tournament Sunday night. The games starts at 7:45 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on truTV.
