Report: Eagles, Vikings to kick off 2018 NFL season

Eagles head coach Doug Pederson

The Philadelphia Eagles won Super Bowl LII after defeating the Minnesota Vikings in the NFC Championship, and the NFL world won’t be waiting long to see a rematch.

According to Howard Eskin of Sports Radio WIP in Philadelphia, the Eagles will host the Vikings to open the 2018 NFL season Thursday, Sep. 6, at Lincoln Financial Field.

The last meeting wasn’t much of a contest, since the Eagles smashed Minnesota 38-7. However, the NFC North squad will have a renewed sense of optimism thanks to the signing of Kirk Cousins, who has significant experience against Philly.

For the last three years, he served as the full-time starter in Washington. Cousins, who also started one game opposite the Eagles in 2014, is 4-3 against the franchise so far.

The big question is whether Philadelphia star quarterback Carson Wentz will have recovered from his surgery to repair a torn ACL. But even if Nick Foles remains under center, the NFL season should begin with an entertaining game.
