Tom Brady has interesting connection to Minnesota

Tom Brady and the New England Patriots are headed to Super Bowl LII in Minnesota, and the trip is conjuring of some memories for the All-Pro quarterback.

While appearing on WEEI for his weekly interview (h/t Mike Reiss, ESPN), Brady said Minnesota is his mom’s home state and that every summer the family would visit his grandparents, who were dairy farmers.

“We’d go fishing in the summer, ice fishing in the winter, and milk the cows with my grandpa and just kind of tend to the farm. It was a great experience for me, [being] born in California.”

Yes, Brady learned how to milk cows. That’s not something many kids are exposed to, particularly outside the Midwest.

So, while the Super Bowl isn’t exactly a homecoming for Brady, Minnesota is a place with which he’s familiar.

As a pro, the quarterback has only traveled to the Twin Cities twice. The Patriots won both games, though the upcoming trip will be his first appearance at U.S. Bank Stadium.

And there might be a few more Brady supporters in the seats while New England battles the Philadelphia Eagles for the Lombardi Trophy.
