Oklahoma Sooners running back Rodney Anderson reportedly had a protective order filed against him on Monday in Cleveland County.
Per OKC-KWTV Sports Director Dean Blevins, a young woman filed the Victim’s Protective Order, though the specific allegation is yet to be released.

A hearing date has been set: Dec. 18 at 10:00 a.m.
According to Oklaw.org, the state of Oklahoma defines a protective order as “a civil court order that is designed to stop violent and harassing behavior and to protect you and your family from the abuser. It offers civil legal protection from domestic violence to both male and female victims. While protection orders can help keep you safe, they are only pieces of paper and you still must take other steps to protect yourself.”
Anderson was the leading rusher for the Sooners this past season, gaining 960 yards on the ground with 11 touchdowns. He also caught 16 passes for 283 yards and five touchdowns and was extremely potent during the final six weeks of the regular season, gaining 1,041 yards from scrimmage and scoring 14 touchdowns.
The University of Oklahoma has not yet issued any further statement other than to say they are looking into this.
Talked with an OU official who is aware of Rodney Anderson’s situation. He says they are gathering more information.
