Warriors’ Kevin Durant to miss second consecutive game

Kevin Durant

The Golden State Warriors will be without reigning NBA Finals MVP Kevin Durant for the second consecutive game when they take on the New Orleans Pelicans Saturday night.

Durant suffered a sprained ankle against the Philadelphia 76ers last Saturday. After missing the next game against Brooklyn, the All-Star suited up Wednesday night against his former Oklahoma Thunder team.

Warriors head coach Steve Kerr admitted that playing Durant against the Thunder was a mistake. In hindsight, it probably was.

It now appears the defending champs will play it close to the vest with their best player.

Without Durant in the mix Friday night against Chicago, Golden State absolutely walloped the Bulls to the tune of 143-94. It will definitely be tougher sledding against an improved Pelicans squad Saturday evening.
