Case Keenum will start for Vikings against Lions on Thanksgiving Day

Vikings quarterback Case Keenum

Teddy Bridgewater’s return to the field of play will have to wait a little while longer. After yet another rock-solid performance by Case Keenum in a Minnesota Vikings win Sunday, it’s hardly surprising he’ll be under center against the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving Day.

Keenum has been one of the most improved players around the NFL this year.

What he’s done for Minnesota, which lost Sam Bradford heading into Week 2, has been a huge reason why the Vikings are atop the NFC North with a record of 8-2.

In nine games, including eight starts, Keenum has completed 65.7 percent of his passes (a career high) for 2,194 yards with 12 touchdowns (also a career high) and five interceptions.

Unless he starts to struggle and the Vikings lose games because of it, Keenum will finish the season as the team’s starting quarterback barring injury.
