Matt Forte congratulates Jordan Howard for breaking his Bears rookie rushing record

Jordan Howard

One of the most impressive feats accomplished this year by an NFL rookie was Jordan Howard’s phenomenal season rushing for the Chicago Bears.

The first-year back out of Indiana, playing on a team that featured a tepid passing attack, broke Matt Forte’s rookie rushing record with 1,313 yards. He also scored six rushing touchdowns while adding another 298 yards and a touchdown catching the ball.

It was just a fantastic campaign for the rookie, who received some congratulations for his efforts by none other than Forte himself.

That’s a classy gesture by Forte, who was unceremoniously shown the door this past season when Chicago made it clear he wasn’t desired any more.

Forte moved on, signed with the New York Jets and had a disappointing campaign that ended with him landing on IR with a knee injury. Still, he did manage to account for 1,076 yards from scrimmage and eight total touchdowns. Not bad for a graybeard.
