Todd Gurley guarantees the Rams will beat the Seahawks

Where does Todd Gurley rank among NFL running backs this year?

The Los Angeles Rams are entering Week 2 after an embarrassing and disastrous shutout loss to the San Francisco 49ers.

Now, they will host the Seattle Seahawks in an attempt to clinch their first win of the season. Running back Todd Gurley weighed in with his prediction of this Sunday’s game.

“We’re going to get a win this week, for sure”, Gurley said at a Thursday press conference, per turfshowtimes.com.

If last week’s game had even been close, we might actually buy into Gurley’s optimism. But he and the entire Rams offense was atrocious last week. Worse is they were beat 28-0 by the San Francisco 49ers, of all teams.

At this time, the Seahawks are favored to win in Week 2. However, the Rams did manage to beat Seattle the two times the teams played in 2015. Over the last two seasons, the Rams are 3-1.

But, these numbers do not mean anything after witnessing the Rams tank their ship last week.

For starters, quarterback Case Keenum was literally unbearable to watch. He completed only 48 percent of his passes for 130 yards and two interceptions. And, the Rams defense had no answers for keeping Blaine Gabbert, Carlos Hyde and Shaun Draughn from owning the game on the ground.

This week, the Rams will be tasked with slowing down Russell Wilson and Co. Plus, Seattle’s defense recorded 92 combined tackles in its season opener.

The Rams certainly have their work cut out. It would not at all be surprising if Seattle works over the Rams in the form of another shutout in Week 2.

We can at least give Gurley a pat on the back for taking on the glass-half-full approach to the game.
