Peyton Manning welcomes NFL’s HGH investigation

Peyton Manning has no problem with the NFL investigating allegations of HGH use. As a matter of fact, he welcomes it.

Speaking with media on Monday at the Super Bowl 50 Opening Night, he made a strong statement declaring his innocence:

Manning also said he wouldn’t hesitate to allow the Guyer Institute to release records for the investigation:

Those are strong words from the Denver Broncos quarterback. That’s also a refreshing thing to hear from Manning. The best way for anyone to clear their name from allegations of wrongdoing — especially in the court of public opinion — is to cooperate fully with an investigation and have that investigation turn up nothing.

Conversely, Manning is almost certainly making these comments on the advice of a strong legal team. If an investigation wasn’t going to yield “a big fat nothing,” it would be foolish to say that it would.

Granted, nothing that Manning says now means a whole heck of a lot when it comes to the actual findings of the investigation. Still, these are the kinds of words that fans of Peyton Manning should love to hear from the quarterback.
