PGA fan favorite Rickie Fowler—he of the bold color choices on the golf course—endeared himself to members of the media on Thursday evening. He bought everyone beers after scoring an ace to finish his round.
Todd Lewis of the Golf Channel tweeted out a picture of the note and stash Fowler left for those covering him during the Quicken Loans National.
Great move by @RickieFowler. He aced par 3 9th and bought drinks for media members. The writing may be impaired. pic.twitter.com/wIzxGdTGRr

On his final hole of the day—the par-three 9th—during second round of the tournament at the Robert Trent Jones GC, Fowler earned the equivalent of a PGA Tour walk-off grand slam.

Quicken Loans will pay the mortgage of one lucky fan for a year following Fowler’s ace, which, if you were wondering, is the reason the golfer alluded to a mortgage in his love note to the media.
While a beer or two doesn’t come close in the long run to zero house payments for a year, the sentiment was warmly received by those who took advantage of Fowler’s generosity.
