Richard Sherman and Andrew Luck Hold Events to Benefit Children

Instead of reporting the negative, it is worth recognizing some NFL players who devote their time to their local communities during this slow stretch of days heading up to training camp.

Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman held a charity celebrity softball game for which the proceeds went to Sherman’s Blanket Coverage Family Foundation. Sherman’s foundation helps purchase school supplies and clothing for students in low-income families.

While Sherman was playing softball, Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck held “Change the Play” camp for kids—a camp that promotes healthy activity for children.

“It’s always nice,” he told The Indy Star. “The most important thing is, we’re having fun, and then learning something in the process.”

Luck described the camp as this:

“This camp isn’t about becoming the best football player or basketball player, soccer player, whatever it is,” he said. “It’s about taking charge of your own health.”

Obviously Luck and Sherman aren’t the only players out there who spent their time at charitable events. It’s just nice to be able to share these stories, especially when it comes to activities that benefit children.
