Patrick Peterson Calls Seahawks Receivers Underrated, Indicates Team is Always Outraged

Seattle Seahawks’ wide receivers were definitely not missing from the action in the team’s NFC Championship game victory against the Green Bay Packers this past Sunday.

Jermaine Kearse will be noted as the guy that caught the game-winning touchdown despite four previous targets that resulted in interceptions for quarterback Russell Wilson. Doug Baldwin also has our ears still ringing with his post-game expletive-filled tirade.

With Sunday’s events fresh in everyone’s minds, Arizona Cardinals’ cornerback Patrick Peterson spoke up about Seattle’s receiving corps in an interview following the Pro Bowl draft Wednesday evening (via NFL.com).

I told you guys that from when we play those guys throughout the year, they have some very, very underrated receivers and they can get the job done. They are a pretty challenging group. They are definitely underrated.

Peterson indicated that the strength of Seattle’s pass-catching unit goes beyond what their statistics show.

Baldwin led the team with 66 catches, 825 yards and three touchdowns in 2014. Kearse only had 38 catches for 537 yards, while running back Marshawn Lynch was third on the team with 37 receptions.

At the end of the interview, Peterson addressed Baldwin’s rant in an upfront manner.

I didn’t watch the game, I didn’t see (Baldwin’s) outrage — it seems like that team always have some outrage going on.

There it is. Why not throw in a little zing to to his division rivals? Even among the compliments Peterson paid, we all know that his closing comment will be the one that draws attention.
