49ers Fans Burning Kaepernick Jerseys, Should be Ashamed

Only the most successful on-field quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers since Steve Young, young signal caller Colin Kaepernick is receiving a majority of the blame for San Francisco’s struggles this season.

And following the team’s double-digit loss to the Oakland Raiders on Sunday, some 49ers “fans” took their anger out on Kaepernick jerseys.

That’s a perfectly reasonable response to one loss, which dropped the 49ers to 7-6 on the season. Remember a few years ago, these same fans would have been jumping up and down if the 49ers still had a minimal chance of earning a playoff spot heading into Week 15.

Expectations surely have changed in San Francisco, but Kaepernick is one of the primary reasons for that.

As it is, fans figured it made sense to light some jerseys on fire in some sort of action meant to…

Well I have no idea,

These 49ers fans should be ashamed of themselves. It’s one thing to burn a Jay Cutler jersey, which some Chicago Bears fans have done recently. It’s a completely different thing to burn the jersey of a quarterback that has led your team to a Super Bowl appearance and two NFC Championship game appearances in his short tenure as the starter.

Whatever floats your boat, I guess.
