One Minor Problem with Potential Terrelle Pryor Position Switch

People may have wondered what the Seattle Seahawks’ plans were for quarterback Terrelle Pryor when they traded a seventh-round draft pick to the Oakland Raiders to acquire him. Perhaps switching positions was a possibility for Pryor who completed just 57 percent of his passes in 2013.

Pryor’s pass completion record for 2013 was the second worst as he sat just once notch above Brandon Weeden (Sorry Cowboys fans).

Rest assured, because it appears the Seahawks do not have plans of any switching Pryor’s duties, which is probably a good idea, as Pryor had this to say to the Seattle Times (via CBS Sports).

I don’t know how to catch. I don’t know how to run the ball as a running back. I’ve been a quarterback my whole life.

So, basically, the Seahawks have a quarterback who ranks nearly dead-last in pass completions and he can’t catch or run the ball, which is probably why the Raiders sent him packing.

Apparently, the Seahawks aren’t scared off by any Pryor’s inadequacies though, as offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell had these positive comments to share..

He’s working really, really hard to get it. There are a lot of good things that are happening out here. Sometimes just being able to spit the play out in the huddle can be a challenge and that hasn’t been a problem for him. He’s been able to rip right through it. He’s picking up the offense really well.

Pryor’s further progress surely will be a factor as whether he sits second or third behind obvious starter Russell Wilson.
