The Cleveland Browns are seemingly preparing for the 2014 season without star wide receiver Josh Gordon. They have officially signed former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Miles Austin to a one-year contract.

Austin, who was released by the Dallas Cowboys earlier this offseason, recorded 24 receptions for 244 yards and zero touchdowns in yet another injury-plagued campaign last season. The veteran is one year removed from putting up 944 yards and six scores. He’s been dealing with a ton of injury issues over the past couple seasons, mainly a nagging hamstring issue.
If Austin can prove to be 100 percent, he could be a real steal for the Browns and rookie quarterback Johnny Manziel. In any event, this is likely a low-risk move for a Browns team that simply needs to find pass catchers on the outside after avoiding the wide receiver position in the draft.
