The Philadelphia 76ers lost their 26th consecutive game on Thursday after falling to the Houston Rockets 120-98. One more loss and they will break the all-time NBA record that was set by the Cleveland Cavaliers during the 2010-2011 season.
To put this into perspective, the Seattle Seahawks have won a game more recently than Philadelphia, who hasn’t ended a game on the positive side of the ledger since January 29th.
With a loss Saturday at home against the Detroit Pistons, Philadelphia will set the all-time professional sports record for most consecutive losses. If they lose two days later against the Atlanta Hawks, the Sixers will have gone a full two months without winning a single game.
Think about that for a second.
Here are some of the reactions to this skid around the social media “world.”
How does one even get that open? Here is the link to the full play that occurred during the second quarter of Philadelphia’s most recent loss.
Bleacher Report’s David Kenyon summed up this one play the best…
LRT: Look, I know the Sixers are bad. But I haven’t seen an open lane like that in many grade school games…

Looking at the 76ers’ roster, 26 straight starts to make some sense.
