Report: Jarvis Landry being investigated for battery

Jarvis Landry

Miami Dolphins receiver Jarvis Landry is reportedly being investigated by the Broward County State Attorney’s Office for battery.

Andy Slater of 940-AM WINZ in Miami reports the Fort Lauderdale police department has been investigating the matter before forwarding it to the State Attorney’s Office.

“The alleged incident took place in a Fort Lauderdale apartment earlier this year, multiple sources say. It involves Landry’s girlfriend,” Slater reports. “She has not been cooperating with authorities, sources say.”

Landry and his girlfriend are currently involved in an open paternity case as well.

“The parties are involved in what has been a very civil family court case,” her attorney said. “Beyond that, we have nothing to add.”

No charges have been filed at this time, and Slater reports none will be forthcoming this week as the investigation plods along.

Entering his fourth year as a pro after being selected in the second round out of LSU in 2014, Landry has been one of the most prolific receivers in the league since then. He is tied with fellow LSU alum Odell Beckham Jr. for most catches in a player’s first three seasons (288).

Landry has been a mainstay in Miami’s offense and is the most indispensable non-quarterback on the roster.
