Report: Jordan Howard suffered corneal abrasion

Jordan Howard

The Chicago Bears are traveling to Arizona without running back Jordan Howard, who suffered a scary, though minor injury to his eye.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports Howard suffered a corneal abrasion, which sounds awfully painful but is reportedly not serious.

Chicago is heading to the Southwest to take on the Arizona Cardinals on Saturday. Howard is undeniably locked into the No. 1 running back role, so there’s no worries about him missing this game.

Last year as a rookie out of Indiana, Howard appeared in 15 games, starting 13. He rushed for 1,313 yards and six touchdowns, adding another 298 yards and a touchdowns on 29 receptions. Howard will be a big part of what Chicago does offensively this year, no matter who starts at the quarterback position.
