Ice Cube indicates he’s had talks with Kobe Bryant about joining BIG3

The new professional basketball league BIG3 has not necessarily been a smashing success in its inaugural season. This hasn’t stopped co-founder Ice Cube from reaching for the stars.

We mean this in almost the most literal of manners.

According to Cube himself, he’s been in talks with the great Kobe Bryant about joining the league.

When asked if he has talked to Kobe and whether the future Hall of Famer would be interested, Cube had an interesting response.

“Yes. I hope so one day,” Cube said, via TMZ Sports. “I hope his competitive juices gets the itch in him and he wants to come in the league and score 50 and win the game.”

We’re not entirely too sure if anything will come out of this, but Cube is hoping that Bryant gets the “competitive itch” once again after retiring from the NBA following the 2015-16 campaign.

It would definitely be a coup for a fledgling young basketball league that has struggled getting television ratings primarily because it airs games on tape delay the day following them being played live.
