Report: Celtics trying to assemble a package for Kristaps Porzingis

Kristaps Porzingis is a name to watch as NBA trades go down

As the 2017 NBA Draft quickly approaches, one thing is becoming readily apparent. The New York Knicks have clearly placed Kristaps Porzingis on the trade block.

Knicks president Phil Jackson all but confirmed this suspicion on Wednesday evening.

It now looks like the Boston Celtics are attempting to put together a package to meet what are expected to by sky-high demands for the young big man.

There’s really no way to place a value on what Porzingis brings to the table in a potential trade. We’re talking about a 21-year-old forward that averaged 18.1 points and 7.2 rebounds as a sophomore last season. Porzingis himself projects as a multi-time All-Star moving forward.

This is one of the reasons many are shocked that New York is considering moving the youngster, especially considering the team is in full-scale rebuild mode.

Any package from the Celtics would likely have to include this year’s first-round pick (No. 3 overall), future first-round picks and a couple established veterans.
