Dak Prescott reveals moment he knew Cowboys were his team

Dak Prescott

Nobody will soon forget the eloquent concession speech former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo gave last November when he acknowledged Dak Prescott as the leader of the offense.

That nobody includes Prescott.

When Romo addressed the press last November, Prescott already had full reign of the team. By Week 10, Prescott helped lead the Cowboys to an 8-1 record. The only game they lost was to the New York Giants in Week 1.

Prescott had scored 18 combined touchdowns and had only two interceptions at this point. Rightfully so, Romo decided it was time to officially surrender his starting job. Romo remained a great sport throughout the rest of the season as he watched a gifted, young quarterback evolve as the new face of the franchise.

After some discussions took place about potentially trading Romo during the offseason, he eventually decided to walk away from playing football, taking a job at CBS.

As for Prescott, he’ll look to continue the smashing success he had in 2016 as the Cowboys venture into training camp.

At this time last year, nobody would have predicted this interesting turn of events in Dallas.
