Former Indianapolis Colts general manager Bill Polian is not someone that is afraid to offer his opinion on what’s happening around the NFL.
He also has a pretty sour history with the New England Patriots, seeing his team lose multiple times to Tom Brady and Co. in the playoffs.
So it shouldn’t be a surprise that Polian himself is bitter when it comes to addressing the Patriots’ success. But the retired exec’s recent comments on his Sirius XM radio show seem to be a bit outlandish.

While the Patriots might not be invincible, they are in the midst of the greatest long-term dynasty since the San Francisco 49ers of the 1980s. That’s something critics simply cannot deny.
Though, Polian himself doubled down on his critique of the defending champs in a way that shows us his true bias.
“Tom Brady was a quarter away from losing the Super Bowl last year pretty decisively,” Polian said (h/t CBS Sports). “They are a great team. What they are is exceptionally well-constructed and exceptionally well-coached. But, Tom Brady isn’t going to play forever. He showed some signs of being human last year on a number of occasions, including in the Super Bowl.”
Brady threw 28 touchdowns compared to two interceptions in 12 starts last season. He boasted the lowest interception percentage in the NFL and ranked in the top two in quarterback rating.
Brady also engineered the greatest comeback in Super Bowl history, tossing for over 300 yards in the second half alone this past February against Atlanta.
Criticism of the Patriots isn’t anything new. Any time there is a top dog in the professional sports world, critics will come out and attempt to bash them.
Heck, look at how the NBA world is reacting to the dominance we have seen from the Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors during this year’s playoffs.
It’s human nature.
Still, Polian is a Hall of Fame executive. He’s also seen as an expert in the football world. Showing this type of bias while mildly praising the Patriots is not a great look.
