We all remember Christmas morning when we were kids. Forget about sleep on Christmas Eve, and then there’s the inevitable rush into your parents’ bedroom before the butt crack of dawn to rouse them for the big day. That’s pretty much how John Lynch is treating his first NFL draft as rookie general manager of the San Francisco 49ers.
Spurning advice from his GM friends, Lynch has been chomping at the bit since the wee hours of the morning.
Advice from all my new GM friends? "Get some rest, it's a marathon." Yea right! I've been up since 3:30 AM. Let's do this already!

Sounds like someone is ready to approach this draft with an enthusiasm unknown to mankind, to steal a Jim Harbaugh phrase.
The 49ers own the No. 2 overall pick, and they’re preparing for what could potentially be a barrage of trade offers. They’re not buying the rumors that Cleveland will use the No. 1 overall pick to draft quarterback, meaning other teams are potentially going to be desperate to move up for him.
Heading into Thursday’s first round, San Francisco has 10 picks to work with over seven rounds. Lynch better conserve his energy, because it’s a long haul.
