Drew Brees praises Dak Prescott: Has ‘presence about him that’s hard to explain’

Drawing praise from a future Hall of Fame quarterback such as Drew Brees doesn’t come easily. That praise must be earned. This is something Dallas Cowboys rookie quarterback Dak Prescott has apparently accomplished in his one season of play.

“He’s a cool customer. I think he’s got a presence about him that’s hard to explain, Brees said, per Jon Machota of Dallas News. “It’s a confidence but also you can tell that he’s got leadership abilities. He’s got a lot of things going for him.”

Brees also admitted one of the reasons he decided to come to the Pro Bowl was to be surrounded by guys like Prescott and to be a mentor to the younger players.

“I took full advantage of that and I appreciated when guys would give me their time or their attention, so any chance I have to maybe impart a little bit of wisdom on him, I’m happy to do that.”

Brees is one of the all-time elites in his field. And Prescott also paid the veteran some due respect.

“He is one of my favorites. In everything he does he is so detailed. We are out at the Pro Bowl and he’s still hitting every drill, throwing every ball. It’s one speed. It’s the right way to do it.”

The pair will suit up together for the NFC team in Sunday’s Pro Bowl. Brees will be making his 10th career appearance after being asked to fill in for Super Bowl-contending quarterback Matt Ryan.

And, if Prescott keeps up the pace at which he performed in his rookie year, it will be no time before he too will be a Pro Bowl veteran.
