With Rainbow overhead, Arnold Palmer’s ashes spread

One can hardly think of Arnold Palmer without quickly thinking of Latrobe Country Club. It was his home course. It’s where Palmer learned to play the game.

So, it’s fitting that even after Palmer’s death, a part of him will remain at Latrobe Country Club forever.

Palmer’s late wife, Winnie, passed away in 1999. He married his second wife, Kathleen, in 2005. The two remained married until Palmer’s death on Sunday.

The Palmer family has been associated with Latrobe Country Club for more than 80 years.

In 1931, when Arnold was only two, his father, Deacon, became the head professional at Latrobe. He remained working at the Country Club in some capacity until his 1976 death.

In what is hard to be seen as anything else than Arnold reaching down from the sky, a rainbow was seen over Latrobe just as his ashes were being spread.

Palmer died on Sunday at the age of of 87.
