Report: Jamaal Charles to play Sunday against Steelers

Jamaal Charles

After sitting out the first three weeks of the season recovering from ACL surgery, Kansas City Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles is set to make his 2016 debut.

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports Charles will suit up and play Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers, despite head coach Andy Reid listing the back as “questionable” for the upcoming game.

This is exciting news, not only for Charles, the Chiefs and their fans, but also for fantasy football owners who drafted the dynamic back. That said, we should all temper our expectations for the game in Pittsburgh.

The Chiefs have been awfully careful bringing Charles back from his injury. They aren’t suddenly going to throw caution to the wind now that he will be active. It also helps that Spencer Ware has been doing his best impersonation of Charles the first three weeks of the season.

It might be a few weeks before Charles takes on his normal workload. Until then, we will be watching his return with great anticipation to see what kind of shape he’s in.
