Shawn Oakman showed up inside Baylor’s locker room during the team’s away game at Rice University this past weekend, sparking outrage in light of his alleged sexual assaults while a student at Baylor.
Head coach Jim Grobe addressed the incident on Monday, saying he wasn’t aware Oakman had even been in the locker room and wouldn’t recognize him even if he had seen him.

Being that Grobe was not coaching at Baylor when Oakman attended this is understandable.
However, it didn’t help matters when quarterback Seth Russell lauded Oakman as “a great guy” who was “just in a bad situation.”
Baylor also addressed the incident in a statement on Monday evening.

Needless to say, if Grobes was not aware of who Oakman was or what he looked like before the game, he’s aware now.
Since leaving Baylor, Oakman has pleaded not guilty to rape.
