Former NFL defensive tackle Warren Sapp was the victim of a minor shark attack when he was bit while on a boat in the Florida Keys on Wednesday.

“It’s simple,” charter captain Jack Carlson said via text, per Greg Auman of The Tampa Bay Times. “He was lobstering with me and a shark bit Sapp while he was grabbing the lobster. He’s OK.”

Per the report, Sapp was on a charter boat and was lobstering when the shark popped up to bite him on his shoulder.

Sapp appears to be okay. He is fortunate not to have lost his entire arm.

The Hall of Famer apparently has plenty of time on his hands for sports and adventures after being fired from his job at NFL Network last year after being arrested for solicitation.
