Despite what Donald Trump has trumpeted, Don King made it clear he is not endorsing the Republican presidential candidate.

Trump had previously tweeted out  this message:

When asked about this at Muhammad Ali’s funeral, King shot down Trump’s claim.

“No,” King said, via the New York Daily News. “I’m endorsing the people. I’m not a Republican or a Democrat, I’m a Republicrat, and I go with the will of the people. The only reason Trump exists is because of the will of the people.”

King added, “I like Mr. Trump. He’s an idol of America.”

Trump is becoming quite known for stretching the truth these days. Yet his supporters seem blind to this, likely because he truly is “an idol of America,” as King put it.

The boisterous businessman will take on Democratic presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton later this year for the honor of becoming the 44th United States president.
