Former San Francisco 49ers, Washington Redskins and Oakland Raiders defensive lineman Dana Stubblefield is being charged with raping a disabled woman at his home in Morgan Hill, CA.

Jason Green of the San Jose Mercury News detailed the allegations that the 45-year-old former Pro Bowler is now facing.

“Former San Francisco 49er Dana Stubblefield was charged Monday with the rape of a “developmentally delayed” woman, according to the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office.

Prosecutors said the woman was assaulted on April 9, 2015, when she went to his Morgan Hill home to interview for a baby sitter’s job. The 5-foot-tall, 105-pound woman immediately reported the alleged crime to the Morgan Hill Police Department.”

Green also quoted Deputy District Attorney Tim McInerny, who added that “This was a crime of violence against a vulnerable victim. She was looking for a job and she was unconscionably assaulted.”

Stubblefield will obviously get a chance to prove his innocence, but those charges are about as ugly as it gets. If he’s proven guilty, he’ll certainly face a long (and well deserved) prison sentence.

Stubblefield last played in the NFL in 2003. In his career, he made three Pro Bowls, earned First Team All-Pro honors once and was the league’s Defensive Player of the Year in 1997.
