Report: Brett Favre Hall of Fame discussion took six seconds

We don’t yet officially know whether or not Brett Favre will make the Hall of Fame. The only thing that we can say now is that the decision reached on Favre was an easy one.

While that’s not an official guarantee, it might as well be. Brett Favre is clearly a Hall of Fame player.

Favre retired with 71,838 career passing yards and 508 touchdown passes. Both marks were a record at the time of Favre’s retirement, though both have since been broken by Peyton Manning.

Favre was also a three-time MVP, winning the honors outright in 1995 and 1996, and sharing the honors with Barry Sanders in 1997.

Favre led the Green Bay Packers to a 35-21 victory over the Green Bay Packers in Super Bowl XXXI, and lost the following year, 31-24 to the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl XXXII.

He was drafted by the Atlanta Falcons in 1991 but didn’t start a game for the Falcons. He went to the Green Bay Packers in 1992, started 13 games that season and would start every game for the remainder of his career until late in 2010, smashing the NFL records for games started and consecutive games started.

Following the 2007 season, the Packers decided that Aaron Rodgers would be their quarterback and traded Favre to the New York Jets. After one year in New York, he finished his career with the Minnesota Vikings, playing there in 2009 and 2010.
