Report: LeSean McCoy is supposed to ‘play lots’ despite injury status

Never mind that pesky “questionable” status for Buffalo Bills running back LeSean McCoy.

According to a report by ESPN’s Dianna Marie Russini, the Buffalo Bills expect running back LeSean McCoy to “play lots” during Sunday’s divisional rivalry matchup with the New England Patriots.

This doesn’t necessarily mean that McCoy, who has been experiencing soreness in his hamstring, will be playing at 100 percent. With that in mind, fans should be prepared to expect another mediocre performance out of McCoy, who eked out only 41 rushing yards on 17 attempts. Facing a Patriots defense that allowed 134 rushing yards at an average of 5.4 yards per attempt in Week 1 does bode well for McCoy, at least.

The Bills will have rookie Karlos Williams — who rushed for a thrifty 55 yards on just six attempts and one touchdown in Week 1 — waiting in the wings should McCoy look hobbled on Sunday.

The McCoy news should at least be encouraging to fantasy football owners, who never like seeing that little “Q” next to their star players.
