Rob Gronkowski Weighs in on Tom Brady Suspension: “We Just Gotta Go Out There and Play Football”

A ruling is expected soon on New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady’s appeal of a four-game suspension the NFL levied against him for his alleged role in Deflategate.

Someone who is ready to play with or without Brady is tight end Rob Gronkowski, who had this to say about the situation (via NFL.com):

“We just gotta go out there and play football. Everyone has to do their job and I gotta go out there and do do what I gotta do to be successful on the field. It’s gonna be what it is, we’re gonna see what happens and if it doesn’t go the way everyone is hoping, we just got to adjust, so we’ll see.”

Gronk made these comments doing an interview while out on his book signing tour. The tight end is all about letting loose and having fun this summer, but he keeps it real when it comes to the reality of the Brady situation.

According to NFL Media’s Albert Breer, Brady’s attorneys met Monday to commit to a plan to take any suspension to federal court and to finalize all details before the official ruling is handed down by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell.

If the suspension sticks, Gronk would be wise to spend some extra time on the field working with backup Jimmy Garoppolo heading into what would then be a very interesting preseason slate for the team.
