Teams Apparently Not Interested in Redskins QB Kirk Cousins

Now that the Washington Redskins have committed to Robert Griffin III for the next two seasons, it stands to reason that the team would entertain trade offers for backup quarterback Kirk Cousins.

This is only magnified by the fact that Cousins, who was selected in the fourth round of the 2012 NFL draft, is less than excited about the idea of returning to D.C. as RGIII’s backup.

Unfortunately for Cousins and the Redskins, it appears that there is no interest in his services on the trade market.

Cousins, 27, has started nine games for the Redskins in three seasons, including five this past year. He’s totaled 18 touchdowns compared to 19 interceptions and boasts a 2-7 record as a starter during that span.

Despite his less-than-stellar overall play, one would think there might be a market for Cousins. Heck, the likes of Blaine Gabbert and Brandon Weeden are acting as primary backups in today’s NFL.

It will be intriguing to see if interest ramps up as the 2015 NFL draft gets going and teams start to realize where they stand at quarterback.
