Report: Antonio Brown Decided to Work Out with the Steelers

Last week, Pittsburgh Steelers’ wide receiver Antonio Brown decided not to show up for the team’s voluntary workouts that began last Monday. It was reported that Brown was looking for new deal by sending the team a message with his planned absence from the workouts.

On Monday, however, it would appear that Brown has changed his tactics. Probably against the advice of super-agent Drew Rosenhaus, Brown showed up for work on Monday. Perhaps he figures his hard work and dedication will eventually go further than taking the stubborn hold-out route. Either way, the Steelers are not likely to renegotiate with him at any point soon. That’s magnified by the fact that he just signed a six-year, $43 million contract back in 2012.

It was reported by Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette last week that the Steelers have let better players walk in the past over disputes about money. Brown could find himself in this position due to his current lack of negotiating power. The best place for him to be is on the field with his teammates, something it appears Brown just recently realized.
