Chandler Parsons Reportedly out for the Remainder of Mavericks-Rockets Series

Dallas Mavericks forward Chandler Parsons will reportedly miss the remainder of the team’s first-round playoff series against the Houston Rockets after suffering a knee injury late in the regular season.

Parsons—a former Rocket—played 37 minutes in the team’s series-opening loss on Saturday. He put up just 10 points on 5-of-15 shooting, and had to sit out Game 2. He missed the team’s final six regular season games.

Yahoo Sports NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski is now reporting that it’s “impossible” Parsons will return in the series.

Veteran Richard Jefferson filled in for Parsons in the Mavericks Game 2 loss on Tuesday, netting just seven points on 2-of-6 shooting in 23 minutes.

It’s yet another blow to a Mavericks team that is two losses from an early exit in the playoffs. A team that has also dealt with continual drama surrounding point guard Rajon Rondo. If anything could go wrong for Dallas this postseason, it has.

The Mavericks will host Houston on Friday night with a chance to make this a series. If not, they will fall into a steep 3-0 hole.
