Report: Josh Gordon Fails Drug Test, Facing One-Year Suspension

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon has failed yet another drug test and will be subject to a year-long suspension under the league’s drug policy.

If you remember correctly, Gordon was originally suspended for the first 10 games of the 2014 season for repeated violations of the NFL’s drug policy. After suiting up for a handful of games, Gordon was then suspended by the Browns for Week 17 for unspecified violations of team rules.

Gordon was also arrested for suspicion of a DUI back in July, which added to his off-field NFL rap sheet.

Gordon, who led all NFL receivers with over 1,600 receiving yards in 2013, entered the 2012 supplemental draft after a few different off-field incidents at Baylor. Looking to turn things around, it appears that he was headed on the right path early in his career. A career that may now very well be over following this recent news.

It’s yet another sad chapter in what has been a terribly disappointing book that Gordon himself continues to write.

Update: Gordon tested positive for alcohol. Because of his previous DUI, the Browns receiver was being tested for that substance by the NFL. Hence, the year-long suspension.
