Jaguars’ WR Ace Sanders Faces Four-Game Suspension

The Jacksonville Jaguars are nearly batting 1,000 in the wide receiver suspension department. In addition to Justin Blackmon’s indefinite suspension, wide receiver Ace Sanders now finds himself facing a four-game suspension.

The second-year receiver told reporters (via NFL.com) that he is facing an NFL four-game suspension. He isn’t planning on appealing and is seeking help from “anyone who can give me insight into personal issues.”

While not revealing the true nature of his suspension, Sanders had this to say as reported by NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport.

I am taking full responsibility for all my actions. I am sorry.

Reports have indicated that Sanders has spoken with his head coach Gus Bradley and general manager Dave Caldwell. Both show their support for whatever situation Sanders finds himself involved.

As it stands, Sanders was right behind Cecil Shorts on the Jaguars’ depth chart. It looks like the season will open with Shorts, then Marquise Lee and Allen Robinson handling the receiving duties. Details regarding the exact nature of the suspension and the long-term future of Sanders remain to be discovered.

Whoever starts at quarterback for the Jaguars, whether it be Chad Henne or rookie Blake Bortles, has a pretty raw crew to work with.
