WATCH: Travis Etienne sets school record on gorgeous 86-yard TD run

Travis Etienne

Clemson Tigers running back Travis Etienne’s stunning speed has been on display ever since he stepped on campus. It’s only fitting that the junior used it to set a record on a blazing 86-yard touchdown run.

Etienne started his damage early against Wofford with a 47-yard touchdown in the first quarter, a fitting number for the 47th rushing score of his collegiate career. He then hit the record in style with a touchdown run that captured everything that makes him great.

The junior immediately slipped out of a diving tackle near the line of scrimmage then wiggled his way through traffic with a quick burst to reach the second level. Once he saw open space, Etienne sprinted his way into the school’s record books.

After a slow stretch in September with four consecutive games under 80 rushing yards, Etienne’s now running free on defenses. He entered Saturday with three straight 100-yard games and is already at 207 rushing yards on eight carries today.

Clemson is dominating Wofford in epic fashion, so Etienne will likely get rested early. Let’s just hope he gets a few more opportunities to add to his record-setting day.
