Coming off a disappointing loss to the Florida Gators, South Carolina took the field on Saturday looking to take out its frustrations on Tennessee. Receiver Shi Smith did exactly that with a 75-yard touchdown on the first play of the game.

The junior receiver snuck open in the middle of the field and immediately found open space after hauling in the pass. Smith turned upfield and hit the jets to split two defenders and find the end zone.

While the big plays have been few and far between for Smith this season, he showed everyone what he’s capable of in open space. A matchup against Tennessee’s secondary could be just what he needed to deliver a breakout game.
