WATCH: Deondre Francois misses snap in disastrous sequence for FSU

In a rivalry game against the No. 2-ranked Clemson Tigers, when they couldn’t afford a mistake, Florida State made a massive one on Saturday.

On first down at the 43-yard line, Seminoles quarterback Deondre Francois wasn’t ready for the snap and center Alex Eberle shot it over his head. The ball started bouncing away before it was eventually recovered at the 20-yard line for a 23-yard loss.

Things only got worse from there for the Seminoles. Running back Cam Akers was called for an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty, turning an already lengthy down and distance into something almost unbelievable to see.

As one might expect, the Seminoles did not get the necessary 43 yards they needed for the first down.

After a disastrous start to the season, Florida State has turned things around as of late. However, it’s mistakes like this that killed them early in the season and will lead to a blowout loss against the Tigers if they continue.
