Before tonight’s matchup between the Phoenix Suns and Dallas Mavericks, NBA legend Kevin Durant clashed with a fan who randomly tried to get his attention by yelling expletives at him.
Thursday’s matchup between the Suns and Mavericks was a pivotal matchup in the Western Conference NBA standings with the teams separated by just one game at the back end of the top eight. Furthermore, it was a matchup getting a national spotlight on TNT since it featured two of the league’s most popular players, Kevin Durant and Luka Doncic.
Unfortunately, before the game could tip off one strange woman inside the American Airlines Center put a spotlight on the ugliness of sports fandom and gave athletes just another reason to complain about those in the crowd.

Kevin Durant confronts fan who called him a ‘b***h’
Hoop Central posted a pair of videos on Thursday night of a verbal clash between the 14-time All-Star and a female fan who may have already had too much to drink. The first shows Kevin Durant entering the floor for pre-game warmups and a woman’s voice clearly yells out to the forward and calls him a “b***h.”
The moment, which can be found below, made Durant stop and confront the woman and a man she was sitting with her, to confirm what he and the video overheard. The woman did not seem to deny it and shockingly tried to get a handshake from the NBA great. Once the unknown man mentioned he had a basketball podcast Durant stormed off in frustration.

A second video sees Durant go back a second time to confront the pair and can be overheard telling the woman “You’re a grown-up.”
It was a very strange moment that delivered an understandable reaction from Durant. It was just another moment that gave the good and respectful NBA fans out there a bad rep. Both of the individuals in the video can be seen holding alcoholic beverages, and one has to wonder if it was far from their first on this evening.
