Shaquem Griffin finally invited to NFL combine

Another round of invitations to the NFL Scouting Combine have been sent, and one-handed Central Florida linebacker Shaquem Griffin has finally received a deserved place at the important draft event.

Griffin himself reported the news that he has officially been invited to the combine, which will be held at Lucas Oil Stadium home of the Indianapolis Colts from Feb. 27 to March 5.

While at UCF, he registered 175 total tackles with 33.5 stops behind the line of scrimmage, including 18.5 sacks. Griffin also notched 12 quarterback hurries, 11 pass breakups, four forced fumbles and two interceptions.

In 2016, Griffin earned Defensive Player of the Year honors for the AAC then claimed another first-team all-AAC nod last season.

Yet that wasn’t enough to secure a place at the combine during the initial round of invites. Griffin once again proved his worth with his performance at the Senior Bowl, drawing the praise of NFL personnel in an impressive week.

Fortunately, the wrong has been righted. Griffin will be a popular player when he takes the field in Indianapolis.
