Washington Redskins rookie starting quarterback Dwayne Haskins is done for the season after being ruled out for Week 17’s game against the Dallas Cowboys.

Haskins suffered an ankle injury during Sunday’s overtime loss to the New York Giants and had to be carted into the locker room.

On Monday, interim head coach Bill Callahan told reporters that Haskins is out and will require a few weeks of rest and rehab, per JP Finlay of NBC Sports.

Veteran Case Keenum will start under center in Haskins’ stead in Week 17.

The former Ohio State Buckeyes star had an up-and-down rookie season in the NFL after being selected No. 15 overall. He finishes the season having completed 58.6% of his passes for 1,365 yards with seven touchdowns and seven interceptions.

If the Redskins are smart, they’ll back up their franchise passer by supporting him with their very early first-round pick in 2020.
