We have seen it in NASCAR and within the Octagon in the UFC. Sports that normally take a backseat when it comes to fighting for racial equality stepping up at a time of widespread division in the United States.

Golden State Warriors star guard Stephen Curry has been the antithesis of this since gaining stardom and finding a platform. That continued during Friday’s round of the American Century Championship in Lake Tahoe.

Check out Curry wearing some awesome custom shoes paying his respects to Breonna Taylor and Black Lives Matter.

A lot of the national focus has been on the death of George Floyd back on May 25 by then-Minneapolis police officer.

Though, if you’ve been listening to the Black Lives Matter movement over the past several years, this is about systemic racism in the United States. It’s about widespread police brutality.

Mrs. Taylor is yet another example. A 26-year-old African-American medical technician, Taylor was shot and killed by Louisville police officers back in March. She was shot eight times while officers executed a no-knock search warrant. Since then, widespread calls for justice have included the officers being charged with murder.

While Curry’s Warriors are not one of 22 teams set to resume the NBA season in Orlando on July 30, those on hand at Walt Disney World have made it clear that protests will represent a major backdrop of the season resuming.
