The Sooner Schooner racing around the field after every touchdown has been a tradition at Oklahoma for years. After quarterback Jalen Hurts touchdown on Saturday, the Sooner Schooner suffered a nasty wipeout.

The schooner came around to make a sharp turn when the wagon tipped over and slammed the two riders into the ground. Meanwhile, the frightened horses darted into the end zone with the wheels still dragging behind them.

Of course, this isn’t the first time the Sooner Schooner has had a scary incident for one of the riders. Someone riding in the back nearly fell out during a game last season and was dragged for nearly 20 yards behind it.

Perhaps riding in the wagon is more dangerous than anyone thought. At least it wasn’t the same person thrown out of the Sooner Schooner today as it was in 2018.

Let’s hope everyone involved is alright and they will be able to calm down the horses as well. While Oklahoma might score more touchdowns on Saturday, we might not see the Sooner Schooner again.
