It sure looked like Syracuse was going to shut down a Florida State trick play Saturday, but somehow the Seminoles pulled a rabbit out of their hat.
Alex Hornibrook threw a screen pass, but the receiver was about to get taken down behind the line of scrimmage. That’s when the magic happened. Hornibrook got the ball back on a lateral, and just as he was about to get hit he unleashed a long pass to Tamorrion Terry, who went 54 yards.
This stunning play led to a touchdown for Florida State before halftime, giving the Seminoles a 21-3 lead over Syracuse.
