San Francisco 49ers 2020 game-by-game schedule prediction and season preview (PODCAST)

San Francisco 49ers 2020 season preview

The San Francisco 49ers are coming off a shocking 2019 season that saw them earn a trip to the Super Bowl. The season culminated in a bitter end after San Francisco blew a double-digit fourth quarter lead against the eventual champion Kansas City Chiefs.

Can San Francisco stem the tide of recent contenders in the NFC struggling after losing the Super Bowl? On the latest NFL Reckless Speculation podcast, TC and NFL editor Vincent Frank preview every Indianapolis Colts game for the 2020 season.

Despite San Francisco’s choke job in the big game last February, it remains one of the favorites to return to the Super Bow from the NFC. The guys delve into how San Francisco was rewarded with a somewhat easy schedule and whether head coach Kyle Shanahan must prove his worth in a big-game situation.

San Francisco 49ers schedule 2020

Both TC and Vincent have San Francisco starting out strong at 3-1 on the season. Each has them losing one game within the first quarter of the season with Vincent predicting an upset loss to the New York Jets.

The guys discuss whether the Arizona Cardinals are in fact a threat to San Francisco’s supremacy in the NFC West and look at the Los Angeles Rams potentially continuing their downward spiral.

One point of contention is whether the Green Bay Packers’ recent lack of success against San Francisco will continue in 2020. The two are set to do battle in a “Thursday Night Football” game on Nov. 5.

TC and Vincent also discuss a huge game against the New Orleans Saints slated for Nov. 15 after the two played one of the best games last season. Could it be for home-field advantage in the NFC? According to TC, not so much. Vincent has a vastly different take.

San Francisco 49ers Super Bowl hangover?

It’s somewhat we saw with the Atlanta Falcons after they lost to the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl years back. Matt Ryan and Co. have not been the same since.

Last season saw the Rams miss out on the playoff altogether after appearing in the Super Bowl the previous February.

TC seems to believe that the 49ers are on a downward trajectory. Vincent thinks that a repeat of last season’s performance could be in the cards. Ultimately, it will come down to injuries and whether Jimmy Garoppolo rebounds after a disastrous performance in last season’s Super Bowl.
