Roddy White blasts Sean Payton, completely discredits his New Orleans Saints Super Bowl win

Back during the 2009-10 NFL season, Sean Payton coached the New Orleans Saints to the first Super Bowl win in franchise history. Former Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Roddy White remains unimpressed to this day, nearly fifteen years after his NFC South division rivals hoisted the Lombardi Trophy.

But don’t take it from us. Take it from the player who ranks second on the Falcons’ all-time receiving yardage list, White himself.

Just in case the above tweet disappears/gets deleted, here’s what White had to say:

“Sean Peyton time has passed him by don’t matter who he gets in the draft drew carried that man and he ain’t done nothing since.”

Obviously, the ‘drew’ he’s referring to is Hall of Fame QB Drew Brees, who White feels carried the Saints and Coach Payton. Then, he says Payton hasn’t done anything since winning Super Bowl XLIV.

This is a comical take. The 2009 season was just Payton’s fourth season as an NFL head coach. He has since gone 203-63 with the Saints and 8-9 last season with the Denver Broncos. Payton has also gone 5-7 in the playoffs since his Super Bowl win.

Why White randomly chose today to start going after Payton is unknown, but we couldn’t pass up on the opportunity to share it too.
