Denver Broncos safety Shamarko Thomas had quite a scare on Friday night during the team’s game against the Washington Redskins. He suffered an eye injury during the game and had to be taken to a local hospital to be evaluated for a detached retina.

On Sunday, Mike Klis of 9News in Denver reported some great news, noting “It does not appear his eye problem was a detached retina,” noting he is still being evaluated and is now in the care of Broncos trainers.
Thomas has sure had a rough go of it lately. He was cut by the Indianapolis Colts after becoming the first NFL player to be ejected under the new so-called helmet rule. He then landed in Denver, only to suffer this injury.
We wish him nothing but the best as he recovers.
